centre staff run ‘vocal marathons’ every
day, with little, if any voice training.
Voice is a vital professional tool for many people
but is often taken for granted and misused. Inefficient
voice use can cause hoarseness and weak voices, which
become accepted as unfixable ‘occupational hazards’.
And yet, voice problems can increase sickness absence
rates, affect an individuals’ ability to do their
job competently, and can cause distress for all involved.
My coaching would enable you to not only understand
the nature of the problem but also to solve it and get
your voice back in healthy working order again.
Sometimes occupational training can highlight certain
voice/speech ‘issues’ without providing
an understanding or solution to it.
My coaching would provide specific technical training
to improve issues such as poor voice projection and
tight throaty voice qualities. It would allow, for example,
articulation problems with ‘s’ or ‘r’
sounds to be addressed and worked through.
